Camille Giroud Vosne-Romanée Les Chalandins in half bottle takes that same south-east facing plot beside the Clos de Vougeot into a 375ml format.

Small formats earn their keep in Vosne, where the fruit needs a little patience and a half gets there ahead of the full bottle. The site is worked sustainably, a share of whole bunches goes into the ferment, and new barrels play a generous but not dominant part. The business has traded from the same Beaune address since the nineteenth century.

Sweet spice, cherry and a fine dusty tannin show up more forward in this size. Around 16°C, with roast quail, a mushroom tart or a midweek steak for one.
