Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino 2021

Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino is a Sangiovese from the northern side of the Montalcino hill.

Brunello is made entirely from Sangiovese Grosso and cannot be sold until its fifth year after harvest, with at least two of those years in oak, which is the longest ageing requirement of any Italian red. The Canalicchio district lies on the cooler northern slopes, where the wines tend towards perfume and fine tannin rather than sheer power. The estate is family-run and the wine is fermented with native yeast and aged in large casks.

Decant well ahead and serve at 17 degrees with roast meats, game or aged pecorino. It rewards twenty years.
