Cantina Del Pino Barbaresco 2021

Cantina del Pino Barbaresco is a traditional Nebbiolo from Renato Vacca's estate in the village of Barbaresco itself.

An old pine above the cellar gives the house its name. The vineyards once belonged to Domizio Cavazza, founder of the original local cooperative, and today Renato Vacca farms Ovello and neighbouring sites sustainably on the calcareous marl of the Tanaro's left bank. The style is firmly traditional: Nebbiolo alone, a long maceration, then roughly two years in large Slavonian botti, with no new French barrels. Perfume and structure matter more here than weight.

Rose, tar and red cherry over drying, savoury tannin. Decant at least an hour ahead and serve at 16–18°C with braised beef, risotto, mushrooms or aged cheese.
