Cantine del Notaio La Firma Aglianico del Vulture DOC is a pure Aglianico from the volcanic slopes of Monte Vulture in Basilicata.

Monte Vulture is an extinct volcano in the north of Basilicata, and its dark, mineral-rich soils and high altitude make it one of the great sites for Aglianico, a late-ripening grape that needs a long, cool autumn. Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti founded Cantine del Notaio at Rionero in Vulture in 1998. His father was a notary, and each wine is named after a part of the notarial act; La Firma is the signature. The wines are matured in old cellars cut into the volcanic tuff beneath the town.

A powerful, structured red for roast lamb, braised meats, game and aged cheeses. Decant and serve at around 18 degrees.
