Description

Cardinale is a mountain Cabernet blend assembled fresh each year from Napa's best hillside blocks.

The wine has no fixed vineyard source: each vintage is built from mountain and benchland lots across Napa, principally Mount Veeder, Howell Mountain and the Oakville bench, with the blend decided on tasting rather than formula. It is made only as a single wine, in small volume, and matured at length in French oak. Cardinale was established in 1982.

Decant well ahead and serve at 17 degrees with aged beef, venison or truffle dishes. It rewards twenty years.
