Description

Cascina Penna-Currado Bricco Lago Dolcetto is a soft, early-drinking red from the Alba hills.

Dolcetto ripens weeks before Nebbiolo and gives a dark, low-acid wine with gentle tannin, which is why it was always the everyday wine of the Langhe while Nebbiolo was kept for occasions. The name means little sweet one, a reference to the grape rather than the wine, which is dry. Fermentation is in stainless steel with minimal oak.

Serve slightly cool at 15 degrees with salumi, pasta or pizza. Drink within four years.
