Castello di Neive Barbaresco DOCG 2023

Castello di Neive Barbaresco DOCG is a traditional Nebbiolo from the castle estate at the heart of the village of Neive.

The Stupino family bought the 18th-century castle, its cellars and surrounding farms in the 1960s, and still own and run the estate today. Neive is one of the main communes of the Barbaresco zone, and the property farms around 25 hectares of vines across several well-known sites. This wine brings together Nebbiolo from more than one of those vineyards, which the estate describes as different expressions of Neive combined in a single wine. It is fermented in stainless steel and matured in large oak casks in the traditional way, aiming for elegance and fine tannin over sheer power.

Pour at around 16 to 18 degrees after an hour in the decanter. It goes well with tajarin and meat ragu, braised beef, roast veal or truffle dishes. It drinks well young and should develop for ten years or more.
