Description

Castello di Neive Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is an approachable young Nebbiolo from a leading estate in the Barbaresco village of Neive.

Langhe Nebbiolo is often the best introduction to a Barbaresco producer, offering the grape's perfume and savoury grip without the long ageing. This one comes from estate vineyards around Neive, tended by the same team responsible for the Santo Stefano cru, with winemaker Claudio Roggero in the cellar. The estate uses a short maceration to soften Nebbiolo's naturally firm tannins, which gives a lighter frame and brighter primary fruit. It is released young, though the producer notes it gains complexity with some time in bottle.

Enjoy it at around 16 degrees with mushroom pasta, veal cotoletta, roast quail or a board of cured meats and hard cheese. There is no need to decant, and it will keep well for five years or so.
