Description
Description
Catalina Sounds Sauvignon Blanc is the wine that made the name, drawn from vineyards across Marlborough.
Catalina Sounds was founded in 2005 and takes its name from the Catalina flying boats that crossed the Marlborough Sounds during the Second World War. Fruit comes from the Southern Valleys and Wairau Valley, with a good share from the estate's own Sound of White vineyard in the Waihopai Valley. Matthew Ward leads the winemaking, aiming for texture alongside the region's familiar aromatic lift. The wines are certified by Appellation Marlborough Wine and Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand.
Serve at 9 degrees with oysters, goat's cheese or green vegetables. Drink within three years.
