Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard River Malbec 2022

Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard River Malbec is a floral, expressive Malbec from a stony riverbed parcel within Argentina's Adrianna Vineyard.

Planted at close to 1,500 metres in Gualtallary, the Adrianna Vineyard is where the Catena family has done much of its research into how Malbec responds to altitude and soil. Within it, the River parcel lies on an old watercourse, its surface thick with rounded white stones that drain freely and make the vines work hard. Grapes from this ground give a Malbec that is floral and exuberant, with long, smooth tannins and a distinctive metallic, mineral edge.

Let it breathe for an hour before serving at around 17 degrees. Pair it with slow-roasted lamb, grilled field mushrooms or a well-aged cheddar, or put it away for many years to come.
