Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Stones Chardonnay is a mineral, age-worthy Chardonnay from Mendoza, bottled here as a 1.5L magnum.

Nicolás Catena, third generation of a family that has grown vines in Mendoza since the early 1900s, spent years singling out the most distinctive lots and rows in the family's vineyards. White Stones is one result: 27 rows in Block 1 of the Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary, where the surface is covered in gravel and white stones. High altitude, poor soil and cool nights keep yields modest and the acidity bright, giving a Chardonnay of focus and length.

Take it out of the fridge a little before serving, around 10 to 12 degrees, and share it over grilled lobster tails, pork loin with apple or a table of cheeses. The magnum format suits long-term cellaring.
