Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Stones Chardonnay 2023

Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Stones Chardonnay is a taut, mineral Chardonnay from a gravel-covered block high in the Andes foothills.

Rows in Block 1 of the Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary are covered with gravel and white oval stones, and a select 27 of them supply this wine. At close to 1,500 metres, the Uco Valley site is one of Mendoza's coolest, and the poor stony soil keeps the vines small and their crops light. According to the family, the 2023 season gave elegant wines with lively natural acidity, lower alcohol and plenty of texture and minerality.

For drinking now, chill to around 10 degrees and serve with sashimi, grilled prawns or a spring vegetable risotto. It will also reward a few years' patience.
