Catena Zapata Angélica Zapata Chardonnay Alta 2023

Catena Zapata Angélica Zapata Chardonnay Alta is a full-flavoured Chardonnay grown high in the Mendoza foothills of the Andes.

With four generations of the family working its Mendoza vineyards, Catena Zapata sits among the leading names in South American wine. This label from the Angélica Zapata range comes from Chardonnay planted at the base of the Cordón del Plata, a part of the Andes that gives the region its highest-altitude growing conditions. Bright sunshine by day and cold air at night give the grapes a long, even season, with ripe flavour and lively natural acidity in balance. French oak fermentation and maturation round out the palate and add a toasty, savoury edge.

Enjoy it chilled but not icy, at around 10 to 12 degrees. Chicken roasted with lemon and garlic, crab linguine or a soft washed-rind cheese all sit well alongside.
