Description

Catena Zapata Nicasia Vineyard Malbec is a complex, elegant single-vineyard Malbec from the Uco Valley in Mendoza.

The Nicasia Vineyard lies in Paraje Altamira, in the southern Uco Valley, one of the high-altitude sites the Catena family chose as it led Argentina's shift towards mountain viticulture. Its Malbec is known for deep colour, a velvety texture and dark fruit with hints of chocolate and spice. The 2021 vintage has been praised for its balance of richness and acidity, with structured tannins and fine fruit quality. The wine is matured in French oak before release.

Enjoy it now with a good decant, or cellar it: the wine is expected to age for 20 to 25 years. Serve at 16 to 18 degrees alongside grilled beef, lamb shoulder or empanadas.
