Cavallotto Barolo Bricco Boschis 2019

Bricco Boschis is Cavallotto's flagship Barolo, blended from three parcels within the family's monopole-like holding in the cru.

The Bricco Boschis cru at Castiglione Falletto is an amphitheatre-shaped site and the source of this estate's most emblematic Barolo. The wine comes from vines averaging fifty years of age in two main parcels. Punta Marcello lies at the top of the slope next to the cantina, a cool terroir known for fragrant, pale juice and long, angular tannins. Vigna Colle Sudovest faces south at lower elevation and is the warmest microclimate on the hill, giving fleshier, more accessible wine with darker fruit and softer tannins. The renowned Vigna San Giuseppe vines contribute a portion as well, so that the three components together form a complete picture of the cru. Maceration ran between 28 and 30 days, after which the wine spent three years in cask ranging from 20 to 100 hectolitres and was bottled unfiltered.

Classically built yet approachable on release, with two decades of cellaring ahead of it. Decant and serve at 16-18°C with braised beef, truffle pasta or aged cheese.
