Chaffey Bros Elijah Shiraz 2021

Chaffey Bros Elijah Shiraz is the label's flagship single-vineyard Shiraz from the northern Eden Valley.

The team spent years searching for an iconic vineyard before settling on the Fechner brothers' Moculta site, on the northern edge of the Eden Valley where it meets the Barossa floor. Old vines, elevation and cool nights give fruit with power and perfume in equal measure. It is matured in new French oak from Leroi, France's oldest family cooperage, which adds polish and spice without masking the vineyard. According to Chaffey Bros it is their most awarded wine, with multiple gold medals and a string of 95-point reviews from critics in Australia and the UK.

Give it an hour in a decanter if drinking now, and serve at around 17 to 18 degrees with a standing rib roast, braised beef cheeks or hard aged cheeses. It has the structure to cellar comfortably for a decade or more.
