Chaffey Bros Kontrapunkt Kerner 2024

Chaffey Bros Kontrapunkt Kerner is a rare single-variety Kerner, fuller and creamier than most aromatic whites.

Kerner is a German crossing of Trollinger and Riesling, and very little of it is grown in Australia. Chaffey Bros source theirs from the Eden Valley, where cool nights keep the fruit fresh while the grapes build texture and weight. The winemakers describe it as Riesling with extra muscle: aromatic, with a creamy palate balanced by bright acidity. It is made for curious drinkers, sommeliers looking for something different and red wine drinkers who want a white with some substance.

Try it with roast chicken, pork schnitzel, creamy seafood pasta or a spiced Indian curry. Serve lightly chilled so the texture can show, and enjoy it over the next few years.
