Chambers Rutherglen Tawny Port

Chambers Rutherglen Tawny is a barrel-aged fortified red in the Portuguese style.

A tawny is aged in cask rather than bottle, so it oxidises slowly and turns from red to amber, picking up nut and dried-fruit character along the way. Australian producers made these for generations under the name port until a trade agreement with the European Union reserved that term; the wines are now simply tawny. Chambers Rosewood at Rutherglen has been in the family since 1858.

Serve in small glasses at 14 degrees with nuts, hard cheese or chocolate. An opened bottle keeps for months.
