Champagne Agrapart & Fils 7 Crus is the entry wine in a range otherwise given over to blanc de blancs, and takes its name from the seven villages behind it.

Agrapart is based at Avize in the Côte des Blancs and farms every hectare it draws on. The seven villages are Avize, contributing younger vines of 20 to 40 years, together with Cramant, Oger, Oiry, Avenay-Val-d’Or, Coligny and Vauciennes. Along with the Complantée, this is one of only two wines in the range that is not pure Chardonnay: the make-up here is 90 per cent Chardonnay to 10 per cent Pinot Noir. The cuvée draws on two harvests, 60 per cent 2021 from premier cru sites and 40 per cent 2020 from grand cru sites, with the reserve component raised in neutral 600-litre casks acquired from François Chidaine and Didier Dagueneau. Even at this level the wine spends three years on lees; disgorgement took place in July 2024 with 6 g/L dosage.

Ready now and good for four or five years. Serve at about 8°C as an aperitif, or with oysters, tempura or a simply grilled fish.
