Description
Champagne Agrapart & Fils 7 Crus is the house’s entry cuvée, drawn from seven villages and made entirely from estate-owned and estate-farmed vineyards.
Agrapart is based at Avize in the Côte des Blancs, the Chardonnay heartland south of Épernay, and almost the whole range is blanc de blancs. 7 Crus takes its name from the seven villages behind it: Avize, from younger vines of 20 to 40 years, plus Cramant, Oger, Oiry, Avenay-Val-d’Or, Coligny and Vauciennes. It is one of only two wines in the range that is not pure Chardonnay, the blend running 90 per cent Chardonnay to 10 per cent Pinot Noir. Two harvests go into it: half 2022 from premier cru sites and half 2021 from grand cru sites, the reserve component raised in neutral 600-litre casks bought from François Chidaine and Didier Dagueneau. Even at this level the wine spends three years on lees. It was disgorged in March 2025 with 6 g/L dosage.
Ready now and good for four or five years. Serve at about 8°C as an aperitif, or with oysters, sashimi or a simply roasted fish.
