Champagne Bérêche et Fils Brut Réserve Vieilles Vignes Non Filtrée is the house's core cuvée, made with the barrel work and long lees ageing usually reserved for prestige bottlings, and offered here in magnum.

The family farms at Ludes on the Montagne de Reims and has become one of the benchmarks of grower Champagne. This release is based on the 2020 vintage, which supplies 65 per cent of the blend, with the balance from the two previous years. The split is 35 per cent Pinot Noir from Ludes, Trépail and Ormes, 35 per cent Chardonnay from sites across the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, and 30 per cent Meunier from Mareuil-le-Port in the Marne. Ludes and Trépail bring the tension that balances the depth and texture of the Marne fruit and the reserve wines, and average vine age is 40 years. Hand-harvested fruit ferments naturally in barrel and ages in barrel and tank; after bottling the wine spends 36 months sur lattes before being disgorged by hand with just under 6 g/L dosage.

Ready now and good for a decade, with the magnum slowing its development. Serve at around 8°C with oysters, tempura or roast chicken.
