Description

Champagne Egly-Ouriet Grand Cru Brut Tradition is the house's principal cuvée, drawn from grand cru vineyards on the Montagne de Reims.

Egly-Ouriet is based at Ambonnay and also holds vines in neighbouring grand cru villages, all farmed on the same terms: old vines, very low yields and late harvesting for full ripeness. Brut Tradition is led by Pinot Noir with Chardonnay making up the rest, fermented in barrel, aged on lees for far longer than the region requires of a non-vintage wine, and finished with a very low dosage. The result has the vinosity and depth that mark the domaine rather than the crispness of a conventional house style. This bottling is a 2013 base disgorged in November 2018.

Drinking well now and able to age; serve with roast chicken, seafood or gruyère at 8-10°C.
