Champagne Jacques Selosse Le Mesnil sur Oger Grand Cru Les Carelles is a single-vineyard blanc de blancs from one of the great Côte des Blancs villages.

Les Carelles is one of the lieux-dits in the Selosse collection, a series of single-site bottlings the domaine began releasing to show the differences between individual parcels rather than blending them away. It sits in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the Grand Cru village most associated with taut, chalk-driven Chardonnay of great longevity. As across the range, the wine is farmed and made along Burgundian lines: low yields, barrel fermentation, extended lees ageing and a minimal dosage. Volumes from a single parcel of this size are necessarily very small.

Best given a few years and drunk over the following decade. Serve at 8°C with oysters, scallops or a mature hard cheese.
