Champagne Jérôme Prévost Extra Brut La Closerie Les Béguines NV

Champagne Jérôme Prévost La Closerie Les Béguines is a single-vineyard, single-vintage Champagne made almost entirely from Pinot Meunier.

Prévost farms around two hectares at Gueux, on the western side of the Montagne de Reims, where sandy soils suit Meunier, the region's third variety and one rarely bottled alone at this level. He began making his own wine in 1998 with help from Anselme Selosse, and the range is built on this one vineyard, Les Béguines. Each release is drawn from a single harvest rather than a multi-vintage blend, vinified in barrel and finished with a low dosage.

Ready on release and capable of several years in bottle. Serve at about 8°C as an aperitif, or with roast chicken, charcuterie or mushroom dishes.
