Champagne La Closerie Grand Cru Jérôme & Agnès Prévost is the first release of this cuvée to include fruit from the couple's own grand cru plots at Le Mesnil-sur-Oger.

Jérôme Prévost is best known for Les Béguines, the single Meunier vineyard at Gueux he has farmed since the late 1980s, and for a cellar approach that owes as much to Burgundy as to Champagne: indigenous yeasts, ageing in used barrels of assorted sizes, no fining or filtration and very low dosage. This grand cru bottling first appeared with the 2019 base. Jérôme and Agnès bought two small plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the spring of 2021, 0.28 hectares in total, planted with mass-selection material in the 1960s on the hard Lutetian limestone used to build the cathedrals of Reims and Paris. The purchased portion is again Chardonnay from Le Mesnil in the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from Puisieulx, at the northern end of the Montagne de Reims, both from growers who work cultivated soils and low yields with harvest dates set alongside Prévost.

Ready now but with the structure to develop over five to eight years. Serve at 8°C in a white wine glass with oysters, roast chicken or a plate of hard cheese.
