Champagne Laherte Frères Les Beaudiers is a vintage rosé de saignée made entirely from old-vine Meunier grown biodynamically in a single Chavot vineyard.

The vineyard is properly named Les Baudiers; the first vintage carried a misprint on the label and the spelling Les Beaudiers has been used ever since. The vines were planted in 1953, 1958 and 1965 on the lower slopes of Chavot, where hard limestone bedrock lies under a topsoil of silex and clay, with occasional vines of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Fromenteau scattered among the Meunier. It is a powerful site that ripens Meunier fully, so much so that Aurélien Laherte's father once made a red wine from it. The fruit was destemmed and macerated on skins for fourteen to sixteen hours, then fermented naturally in old oak barrels and matured on lees in the same barrels for at least twelve months, with no malolactic conversion. After four years on lees in bottle it was disgorged by hand with around 2 to 3 g/L.

A vinous, textured rosé that still keeps its lift; serve at 8°C with duck breast, salmon or a plate of charcuterie.
