Les Longues Voyes is Laherte Frères' single-parcel blanc de noirs, made entirely from Pinot Noir grown on premier cru slopes of the Montagne de Reims rather than at the family's home village.

The house has been at Chavot, just south of Épernay, since 1889, and Aurélien Laherte, the seventh generation, has run it since 2005. He works roughly ten hectares divided into some seventy-five separate parcels across ten villages, using biodynamic preparations, plant infusions and cover crops, with a large part of the holding farmed organically. Les Longues Voyes — the long roads — is named for the distance the fruit travels, about thirty kilometres, from premier cru parcels on the southern flank of the Montagne de Reims, where silty clay sits over limestone. The wine ferments slowly on indigenous yeasts in neutral barrels and rests around eighteen months on fine lees in wood before spending further time in bottle. Dosage is minimal, three to four grams, and the disgorgement date is printed on the label.

Drinking well now and capable of further development in bottle. Serve at around 8°C with roast poultry, charcuterie or a mushroom risotto.
