Champagne Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier is a rosé Champagne made entirely from Pinot Meunier, assembled from the same variety vinified three ways.

Laherte Frères work in the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay, where Meunier is the dominant variety, and this cuvée sets out to show what it can do on its own. Sixty per cent of the volume is Meunier pressed off in the usual way to make a white base wine, more than a third of that component being reserve wine aged in barrel. Thirty per cent is a saignée rosé, the juice left briefly on skins, and the final ten per cent is a fully made red wine. The white component comes from parcels averaging 25 years of age and the red from vines of more than 40. Fermentation and ageing took place across a mix of vessels — vats, foudre and old demi-muids — before bottling for the second fermentation. This release is based on the 2018 and 2017 harvests, disgorged in March 2021 with just 2.5 grams per litre dosage.

Ready now and good for five or six years. Serve at 9–10°C with charcuterie, duck breast or a summer berry tart.
