Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Longitude is an extended-ageing release of the house's premier cru blanc de blancs, in magnum.

Like the estate's Latitude, Longitude is 100 per cent Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, here from vineyards in Cramant, Avize, Oger and Vertus, but these sites have thinner topsoils so the roots plunge straight into the chalk beneath. The name refers to that vertical relationship with the bedrock as much as to the geography, and the wine that results is linear and mineral where Latitude is expansive across the palate. The high proportion of reserve wine, 40 per cent drawn from a perpetual reserve begun in 2004, is central to the blend's consistency; William Kelley has called it one of the finest non-vintage bottlings in Champagne. This particular release is built on the 2017 base year and has spent considerably longer on lees than the standard bottling before being disgorged.

Ready now with the extra lees age giving depth; serve at 8°C with oysters, grilled fish or a plate of hard cheeses.
