Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Longitude is a premier cru Blanc de Blancs from Côte des Blancs sites where thin topsoils put the vine roots straight into chalk.

Longitude draws on Chardonnay from Cramant, Avize, Oger and Vertus. Where the estate's Latitude comes from the clay-influenced southern side of Vertus, these vineyards have much thinner topsoils, so the roots run directly into the chalk bedrock. The name refers both to the vertical geography of the sites and to the shape of the wine, which is linear and mineral rather than broad. Pierre Larmandier has said the aim is more tension than in the past, and points to a north-west facing parcel at Cramant for the spine it brings to the denser Vertus fruit. Reserve wines make up 40 per cent of the blend, drawn from a perpetual reserve begun in 2004. This bottling is based on the 2020 harvest and was disgorged in November 2022.

Drinking well now and will reward four to six years. Serve at 8°C with oysters, raw kingfish or a lemon roast chicken.
