Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Longitude is a Premier Cru blanc de blancs drawn from Côte des Blancs sites whose thin topsoils put the vine roots straight into chalk.

Larmandier-Bernier is a grower house at Vertus, at the southern end of the Côte des Blancs, working its own Chardonnay in Cramant, Avize, Oger and Vertus. Longitude and its sibling Latitude are cut from the same cloth — 100 per cent Côte des Blancs Chardonnay — but the Longitude parcels carry thinner topsoil, so the roots reach the chalky bedrock directly. The name refers both to the north-south spread of those villages and to the shape of the wine the chalk gives: where Latitude is broad across the palate, Longitude is about line and tension. This bottling is based on the 2021 harvest with 40 per cent reserve wine drawn from a perpetual reserve started in 2004, and was disgorged in April 2024.

Ready to drink and worth keeping five years or more. Serve at 8°C with freshly shucked oysters, sashimi or a plate of Comté.
