Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Latitude Blanc de Blancs is the house's Côte des Blancs Chardonnay from the southern side of Vertus, in double magnum.

Latitude takes its name from the vineyards behind it, which sit at roughly the same latitude on the southern side of Vertus; the name also hints at the breadth of texture these clay-influenced sites deliver. In the cellar Larmandier-Bernier works mostly with large-format casks, almost all now sourced from Stockinger in Austria. Fermentation and malolactic conversion happen naturally and there is no filtration. Bottles mature for more than two years, are disgorged by hand and dosed at extra-brut levels, four grams per litre in this case, at least six months before release. This bottling is based on the 2018 vintage with 40 per cent reserve wine drawn from a perpetual reserve started in 2004. The result is pure and mineral, offering texture and depth without losing the chalky, citrus-driven precision expected at this address, and the three-litre format slows its development further.

Versatile at the table and best served at 8°C with fish, terrines, roast chicken or most cheeses other than blue and strong washed-rind styles.
