Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Longitude is a blanc de blancs drawn from premier cru and grand cru villages along the Côte des Blancs.

Larmandier-Bernier is based at Vertus, at the southern end of the Côte des Blancs, where Pierre Larmandier and his family farm around fifteen hectares of Chardonnay on the chalk. Longitude takes its name from the north–south line of villages it comes from: Vertus itself, together with grand cru fruit from Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize. The grapes are picked ripe and pressed slowly, fermentation runs on indigenous yeasts in a mix of tank, large oak foudres and used barrels, and malolactic conversion is generally allowed. The wine ages on lees for an extended stretch in bottle and is finished as an extra brut with a very low dosage, so the chalk and the fruit carry the wine rather than sugar.

Drinking well now and will gain in complexity over several years. Serve at around 8°C with oysters, grilled fish or a young Comté.
