Description
Champagne Leclerc Briant Blanc de Meuniers Millésime is a single vintage Champagne made entirely from Meunier, the variety Champagne's blenders have long treated as a supporting player.
The house was founded in 1872 and is based in Épernay, with its roots and much of its vineyard holding in Cumières and the villages of the Vallée de la Marne. Leclerc Briant was one of the first names in Champagne to take biodynamics seriously, long before the idea had any currency in the region, and the estate is certified organic and biodynamic today. Meunier is the Marne valley's own grape, budding late and ripening early on cool clay over chalk where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir can struggle. Made from the fruit of a single year rather than a blend, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and finished with very little dosage, the house style throughout the range.
Serve at around 10 degrees in a white wine glass rather than a flute, alongside roast chicken, charcuterie or a mushroom risotto.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
