Champagne Pascal Agrapart Avizoise is a grand cru blanc de blancs from old vines on the clay-rich upper slopes of Avize.

Avizoise is sourced from vines of around fifty to sixty years of age in Les Robarts and Les Gros Yeux, neighbouring sites in the Coteaux d'Avize. Their richer argilo-calcaire soils and higher altitude bring more exotic fruit and roundness than the estate's chalkier parcels, as Pascal Agrapart himself notes. The wine aged entirely in 600-litre demi-muids, and the second fermentation took place under cork rather than crown seal, a slower and more oxygen-tolerant path that suits a wine of this weight. This bottling spent just over five years on lees and was dosed at 3 g/L. The result is a potent Avizoise that stays grounded in chalky, stony classicism: rich and dense, with the power tapered by stony freshness and a touch of grip on the finish.

Drinking well now and capable of a decade; serve at 8°C with roast chicken, grilled lobster or a mature hard cheese.
