Champagne Pascal Agrapart Grand Cru Avizoise Blanc de Blancs is drawn from old vines on the clay-rich Coteaux d'Avize, and was bottled with no dosage.

Avizoise comes from two neighbouring sites in the Coteaux d'Avize, Les Robarts and Les Gros Yeux, both now named on the front label. The vines are around 50 to 60 years old and grow on argilo-calcaire soils; the richer clay content and the altitude of these sites give more texture and roundness than the purely chalky parcels lower down, which is how Pascal Agrapart himself describes the difference. The wine was aged entirely in 600-litre demi-muids and, unusually, took its second fermentation in bottle under cork rather than crown seal. The 2019 base spent just over five years on lees and was bottled without dosage. Avize is a grand cru village of the Côte des Blancs and one of the reference points for Chardonnay in the region.

Ready now and capable of a decade or more; serve with roast fish, shellfish or a hard alpine cheese at about 8°C.
