Champagne Pascal Agrapart Grand Cru Complantée comes from a single Avize parcel co-planted with six varieties, including the near-extinct Arbane and Petit Meslier.

Avize is one of the leading grand cru villages of the Côte des Blancs, and Pascal Agrapart is among its most respected growers. Complantée takes its name from the old practice of co-planting several varieties in the one parcel: here Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay and the heirloom Champagne varieties Arbane, Petit Meslier and Pinot Blanc grow side by side in La Fosse à Bull, part of the Fosse vineyard that also gives the Vénus cuvée. Chardonnay accounts for a quarter of the blend, with the remainder split evenly between the other five. The current release is based on the 2021 harvest with 20% reserve wine from 2020. The fruit was picked together, co-fermented and barrel-aged, then bottled without filtration, rested just over two years on lees and dosed at under 5 g/L.

Savoury and unusually herbal for Champagne, it is ready now and will hold five years; serve with roast poultry, mushroom dishes or hard cheese at about 8°C.
