Champagne Suenen's Les Robarts is a grand cru Blanc de Blancs from the Cramant side of a lieu-dit better known as a source for Pascal Agrapart's Avizoise.

Cramant is one of the Côte des Blancs grand crus, planted almost entirely to Chardonnay on deep chalk. Les Robarts straddles the boundary with Avize, and Suenen's vines lie at the top of a small hill on the Cramant side. Aurélien Suenen describes the terroir — some 30 centimetres of silty clay over degraded upper Campanian chalk — as combining the tension and salinity of Oiry with the concentration of Chouilly. The parcel was first planted in 1952, with further blocks in 1978, 1984 and 2005, so the average vine age is now close to 40 years, and a large share are massal selections. The wine was aged for nine months in a single Rousseau foudre before bottling. Like all the estate's single-site cuvées it then spent a minimum of five years on lees, and it was disgorged in June 2023 with a dosage of 3 g/L. It is usually the most textural and arguably the most complex of Suenen's four lieu-dit releases.

Drinking well now, with a decade ahead of it. Serve with oysters, roast turbot or tempura prawns at around 8°C, in a white-wine glass.
