Champagne Taittinger Brut Reserve NV

Champagne Taittinger Brut Réserve is the house's non-vintage blend, built on an unusually high proportion of Chardonnay.

Champagne lies at the northern edge of viable viticulture in France, on chalk subsoil that holds water and reflects light, and the house draws on more than thirty crus across the region. Taittinger has been family-run in Reims since Pierre Taittinger acquired the business in 1932, with cellars in the chalk crayères beneath the city dug in Roman times. Chardonnay makes up around forty per cent of this blend, well above the regional norm, with Pinot Noir and Meunier filling it out, and the wine spends three years or more on lees before disgorgement.

Serve at 8 degrees as an aperitif, or with oysters, sushi or fried food. Drink on release.
