Description
Charles Hours 'Cuvée Marie' Jurançon Sec is a dry white wine from the Jurançon appellation in South-West France, made from grapes picked at full ripeness rather than the late-harvest style the region is best known for.
Charles Hours founded Clos Uroulat in the foothills of the Pyrénées and has long been regarded as one of Jurançon's benchmark producers, working with the region's indigenous Manseng grapes across steep, terraced vineyards. While Jurançon built its reputation on lusciously sweet dessert wines, Charles Hours was also an early advocate for the appellation's dry style, showing that the same grapes, harvested earlier, can produce a wine of real freshness and structure.
It is a crisp, food-friendly dry white, well suited to seafood, poultry or simply enjoyed on its own.
