Description
Charles Hours Jurançon 'Clos Uroulat' Petit Manseng is a luscious, late-harvest dessert wine from the Jurançon appellation in South-West France.
Charles Hours founded Clos Uroulat in the foothills of the Pyrénées, where he has long been regarded as one of the benchmark producers of Jurançon, the historic appellation built on the late-ripening Petit Manseng grape. The small, thick-skinned berries are left on the vine well into autumn, shrivelling under the region's warm days and cool nights until their sugars and acidity reach a natural concentration, before being picked by hand across successive passes through the vineyard.
It is a richly textured, honeyed style of white wine, equally at home with foie gras, blue cheese or fruit-based desserts.
