Charles Joguet Clos du Chêne Vert 2019

Charles Joguet Clos du Chêne Vert is a Cabernet Franc from a walled vineyard above Chinon in the Loire.

Chinon sits on the Vienne river in Touraine, and its reds are made almost entirely from Cabernet Franc, known locally as Breton. The Clos du Chêne Vert is a south-facing walled site on limestone directly below the château of Chinon, which gives a firmer, longer-lived wine than the gravel sites by the river. Charles Joguet was among the first in the Loire to bottle single vineyards separately.

Serve at 16 degrees with roast pork, duck or goat's cheese. It develops over fifteen years.
