Description
Cuvée Sainte Anne is Chartogne-Taillet's flagship non-vintage brut, named for the patron saint of Merfy and built on the 2021 base with disgorgement in April 2024.
The fruit comes from mature parcels in Merfy and Saint-Thierry, north-west of Reims, planted between 1970 and 2009. These are sand-rich limestone soils, and the variety between plots is deliberately preserved: each is vinified separately before blending, so that site character rather than house style leads the wine. The current release is half Chardonnay, with the remaining half split evenly between Pinot Noir and Meunier. Ageing is mostly in old oak casks of various sizes, with a small share in stainless steel, and reserve wine accounts for 50% of the blend, which gives depth without dulling the vibrancy the sandy soils bring. Dosage is 2.5 g/L, low enough to leave the fruit and the chalky line exposed.
Ready to drink and capable of several years in bottle; serve at about 8°C as an aperitif, or with oysters, tempura or a mild washed-rind cheese.
*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
