Description

Château Carbonneau Pur Jus is a Bordeaux red made with as little added as possible.

The estate sits at Saint-Seurin-de-Prats in the Sainte-Foy-Bordeaux hills, the eastern end of the region where the Dordogne runs down towards Bergerac. Pur Jus is the house's low-intervention cuvée, named for the idea of pure juice and nothing else: 90 per cent Merlot with 10 per cent Malbec, picked for freshness rather than weight and fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts.

Serve slightly cool at 15 degrees with charcuterie, roast chicken or a cheese board. Drink within four years.
