Description
Château Closiot Bordeaux Blanc is the dry white from this small Barsac estate, led by Sémillon with a little Sauvignon Gris.
Barsac is known for its botrytised sweet wines, and the dry whites made there come off the same vineyards picked earlier, before noble rot sets in. Jean-Marie Guffens, of Guffens-Heynen and Maison Verget in Burgundy, has owned Closiot since 2017 and reserves the oldest vines for Le C de Sec, sending the younger ones here. Fermentation is in tulip-shaped concrete vats with no oak at all.
Serve well chilled at 9 degrees with oysters, grilled white fish, goat's cheese or a green salad.
