Description

Château Closiot Le C de Sec is the serious dry white of this Barsac estate, from vines of more than fifty years.

Sémillon makes up the bulk of it, with Sauvignon Gris and a little Muscadelle. Only the free-run juice is taken, and it goes straight to barrel, a quarter of it new, for around eight months on fine lees. Jean-Marie Guffens, of Guffens-Heynen and Maison Verget in Burgundy, bought this eight-hectare property in 2017 and keeps the oldest vines on the Barsac plateau for this wine.

Serve at 11 degrees with roast chicken, scallops, a rich fish dish or an aged hard cheese.
