Description
Chateau de Beaucastel Cotes-du-Rhone Coudoulet Rouge Museum Release is a mature southern Rhone red from the Perrin family, released from the estate's own cellar.
Coudoulet de Beaucastel comes from a block of vineyard immediately across the road from the Chateau de Beaucastel estate in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, separated from it by the boundary of the appellation rather than by any real change in the ground. The soils are the same rolled galets over clay, and the wine is made with the same approach as the estate's Chateauneuf, from Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah and Cinsault. The Perrin family have farmed Beaucastel organically since the 1950s, long before that was common in the region, and they have worked biodynamically for decades. Museum Release bottles are held back at the property and offered once they have some age on them.
Suited to roast or braised meat and to dishes with herbs and olive oil; serve at cellar temperature.
