Description
Château de Bellet Rolle Blanc is a distinctive white from the tiny Bellet appellation in Provence, a historic hillside enclave overlooking Nice on the French Riviera.
Bellet is one of France's smallest and least-known appellations, its terraced vineyards planted on the hills above Nice within sight of the Mediterranean. Château de Bellet is one of the appellation's established producers, farming Rolle, known elsewhere in Italy as Vermentino, on these steep, sunny slopes. The maritime climate and poor, stony soils encourage the variety's natural combination of freshness and texture, and the appellation's small scale means production has always stayed close to traditional, hands-on methods.
A fresh, textured Mediterranean white, it is well suited to seafood, grilled vegetables and the herb-driven flavours of Provençal cooking.
