Description

Tinus Blanc Solera 1723 is a perpetual blend of successive vintages from Jean-Marie Guffens' Luberon estate, its name marking the youngest and oldest wines in the assemblage.

The Luberon sits at the eastern edge of Provence, where Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier are the traditional white varieties. Guffens selects what he calls raisins rôtis, the roasted grapes on the outer face of the bunch that catch the most sun, and blends them into a solera that runs back to 2017, with the current bottling based mainly on the two most recent vintages. The wine is held in concrete tanks on lees, so it stays fresh while it develops slowly, the older material contributing complexity and texture and the younger vintages freshness and mineral snap. It is bottled as Vin de France, which is the price of working outside the appellation rules, and it carries no vintage on the label.

Drink on release and over the next three to four years. Serve at 10 to 12°C with roast pork, spiced vegetable dishes or a firm sheep's cheese.

*Every effort is made to ensure the current vintage is accurate; however, variations can occur. If you are after a specific vintage, please contact us prior to ordering.
