Château du Cèdre Eau de Vie de Marc de GC 500ml

Château du Cèdre Eau de Vie de Marc de GC is a Cahors grape marc distilled from the pressed skins of the estate's oldest Malbec vines.

Château du Cèdre sits at Vire-sur-Lot in the Lot valley, the warm western heart of Cahors, where the Verhaeghe family farm organically certified Malbec on gravel terraces and limestone causse. GC is the estate's small-volume old-vine cuvée, and the marc is made from the skins left after that wine is pressed. Rather than distil on site, the estate sends the pomace to Laurent Cazottes in the Tarn, a distiller known for slow, low-volume double distillation in small alembics and for bottling without added sugar or caramel. The result is a clear spirit at 42% alcohol that carries the tannic, dark-fruited signature of Cahors Malbec, released in a 500 mL bottle.

A firm, dry digestif to serve in a small glass at cool room temperature after a meal, or alongside strong cheese and dark chocolate.
